



Springfield, Mass. - March 27, 2010 - The Springfield College men's tennis team dropped it's conference opener to rival Wheaton College, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest.In the match for the Pride, Trevor Romanzi and Tim Tunis won at No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-6. In singles competition, Zach O'Leary was the only member of the Pride to record a victory as he edged of a victory 7-5, 6-7 (10-8), 13-11.
Springfield will next play Rhode Island College on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his third year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
