



Complete ResultsNorth Dartmouth, Mass. -- April 9-10, 2011 -- The Springfield College men's golf team competed in the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, finishing 16th of 18 total teams. The tourney was played at the par-72 Allendale Country Club, a 6,703-yard course.
Salem State won the team portion of the tournament with 637 strokes, 61-over par. Husson placed second with 644 strokes, followed by UMass Dartmouth (647), Rhode Island College (653), Babson (654), Amherst (664), Johnson & Wales (668), Tufts (676), Nichols and Western New England (677), Castleton State (686), UMass Dartmouth Gold (690), Endicott (695), Elms (697), Wentworth (705), Springfield (709), Worcester State (714), and Suffolk (716).
From an indidual standpoint, Bob Bruso from Worcester State turned out to be the medalist. He won a four-way playoff on the first hole. He, Chris Hamel from Husson, Tim Leigh from RIC, and Nick Zolotas from Salem State all finished with 155 scores, or +11.
For the Pride, Tom Sangeloty tied for 38th with scores of 84 and 85=169. Chris Vincent was next best with 87-87=174, as he tied for 51st. Up next was Mike Nawakowski at 90-94=184, tying for 72nd. Then came Jared Slingerland with a 99-87=186 at 77th. And finally came David Hashagen at 95-95=190, tying for 82nd.
Joe Eadie enters his 19th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. Read more.
