



Complete ResultsHumacao, Puerto Rico - March 17, 2013 - The Springfield College women's tennis team was defeated by Puerto Rico Mayaguez on Sunday afternoon by the score of 6-3. Sam Carney picked up a win at No. 1 singles to lead the Pride on the day.
The Pride picked up a point in doubles play as Sydney Steimer and Ashley Duhaime were victorious by an 8-4 count.
In singles action, Carney grinded out a 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 win at the top spot for Springfield. The Pride's other point came at No. 5 singles, with Ariana Shemms posting a 6-2, 6-1 win.
The Pride will hit the courts again on Wednesday when it takes on Puerto Rico Rio Piedras in San Juan.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his third year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
