



Complete ResultsAlbany, NY – October 16, 2010 – The Springfield College men’s cross country team competed in the University of Albany Invitational and finished with 367 points, good for 15th out of the 25 participating teams.
Sophomore Ryan O’Connell ran well for Springfield, once again coming in as the Pride’s top finisher. O’Connell placed 20th overall with a time of 25:50 on the 8K course.
The host University of Albany team won the event, posting 25 points with five top-10 finishers, including the first and second place runners. Brandeis (91 points), Middlebury (129), Binghamton (169), and Colgate (194) rounded out the top five.
Springfield's next top two finishers were Anthony Salvucci and Matt Scully. Salvucci ran a time of 26:20 while Scully clocked in at 27:31. Troy French crossed the finish line in 27:46, while David Birdsall was Springfield's fifth-fastest runner as he finished right behind French in a time of 27:47.
The Springfield men’s team has two weeks to prepare for the NEWMAC Championships, which will take place on October 30 in Worcester, Mass.
Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
