Puerto Rico Mayaguez Blanks Men's Tennis, 9-0

Cody Rodrigues Complete Results

Humacao, Puerto Rico - March 17, 2013 - In its first match of its Spring Break trip to Puerto Rico, the Springfield College men's tennis team was shutout by host Puerto Rico Mayaguez on Sunday afternoon.

In singles competition, Cody Rodrigues had the Pride's top showing, losing a hard-fought three-set match at No. 6. After winning the opening frame 6-3, Carlos Micamer rallied past Rodrigues with 6-3, 10-7 victories to clinch the match.

Zac Goldstein and Rodrigues also had a strong performance at No. 3 doubles, dropping a 9-7 decision.

The Pride will hit the courts again on Tuesday when they go up against Puerto Rico Bayamon in San Juan.
