Men's Cross Country Takes 14th at ECAC Championships
Bristol, R.I. – November 7, 2010
– The Springfield College men’s cross country team fared well at the ECAC Division III Championships Saturday afternoon, placing 14th out of 44 participating teams.
Williams College won the team event with 94 points overall. Middlebury (123 points), Johnson and Wales (142), Tufts (149), and Bates (153) rounded out the top five. The Pride scored 395 points on the day.
Springfield saw four top-80 finishers, led by sophomore Nate Pinciak. Pinciak completed the 8K layout in 27:46.16, good for 60th overall. Others that ran well for Springfield were Jacob Brewer, Alex Murray, and Matthew Peabody. The trio finished virtually together, with Brewer running a 28:07.43, Murray a 28:07.81, and Peabody a 28:08.39.
The Pride head to Williamstown, Mass, next Saturday afternoon for the NCAA Division III New England Regionals.
Head Coach Bryan Brown
Bryan Brown will enter his third season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2013. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, is the reigning NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading Springfield to its second-straight second-place finish at the conference championships a year ago .
