



Wellesley, Mass. - October 15, 2012 - After anchoring the Springfield College men's soccer team in a pair of wins last week, Drew Vanasse was honored as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.In a 1-0 shutout of local rival Westfield State, the Concord, Mass. native controlled the Springfield back line. On Saturday in a critical conference game at MIT, Vanasse led a defensive unit that allowed just one goal despite the Engineers peppering the Pride with 19 shots.
Winners of three-straight contests, Vanasse and the Pride will play Brandeis on Wednesday evening in non-conference play.

Steffen Siebert enters his second season at the helm of the Springfield College men's soccer program in the fall of 2013. After three seasons as an assistant coach, Siebert led the Pride to its second-straight trip to the NEWMAC Championship in his first season. Read more.
