



Ewing, N.J. - February 3, 2013 - The Springfield College wrestling team continued to roll through its competition as it topped TCNJ, 24-17, on Sunday afternoon. Both Eric Hamrick and Jeremy Burns picked up key pins for the Pride. For the second-straight day, the 11th-ranked Pride needed a late rally to knock off another nationally-ranked squad. After edging 12th-ranked Wesleyan 19-17 on Saturday, Springfield won the final two weight classes to rally from a three-point deficit ending 19th-ranked TCNJ's five-match winning streak.
The Lions are now 11-6 on the season, while the Pride pushed its winning streak to seven-straight to improve to 8-2.
Springfield opened up the meet with a win at 125 from Tom Casper and a used a tech. fall at 133 by Derek Adams to race out to a 8-0 lead.
The Lions won the next two bouts, including a major decision at 141 and decision at the horn in overtime in the 149 bout.
Hamrick got the Pride back on track with a pin in 1:34 at 158, only to have TCNJ earn wins at 165 and 174, and coupled with a major decision at 184, the hosts open up its first lead of the day at 17-14.
Burns came through once again for the Pride at 197 with a pin in 2:40 and Gabordi sealed the match with a major decision at 285.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
