



Complete ResultsSpringfield, Mass. - February 7, 2009 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team dropped its final home meet of the season to the visiting Amherst College Lord Jeffs, 173-125, on Saturday afternoon.
For the Pride, Brian Sobel swept the diving competition, defeating the last year's NCAA Diver of the Year, Kai Robinson in both boards. Sobel posted a 322.43 on the three-meter board, edging Robinson's score of 314.55. On the one-meter, Sobel tallied a 289.87 to take first place as well.
Also posting wins on the day for Springfield was Ryan Mackstutis, who touched first in the 100 breast in 1:01.33 and in the 200 breast in 2:14.04. Brian Way also finished first in the 200 fly with a time of 1:58.57, while Greg Pearsall was victorious in the 50 free in 21.78.
SC's 200 free relay of Matt Manoni, Mackstutis, Andrew Blakesley, and Pearsall won the final event of the day with a time of 1:26.55.
