



Complete ResultsBoston, Mass. - October 9, 2010 - The Springfield College women's cross country team ran in the 2010 Open New England Championships on Saturday afternoon in Franklin Park. As a team, the Pride finished 34th out of 47 teams as it recorded 1045 points on the day.
Lacey Cartier paced the Pride once again as she finished the 5k in 19:36. Boston College won the event with 26 points as it had four of the top-five finishers. The University of Connecticut (116), Middlebury College (163), the University of Maine (181), and Quinnipiac (207) completed the top five team scores.
The Pride got a second top-200 finish from Michelle Mirti, who ran a 20:25 in the 5K. Mollie Parshley finished in 20:56 and Sissel Holloway crossed in 20:57 for Springfield as well. Katie Burns rounded out the Pride's top five runners with a time of 21:09.
The women's team runs next Saturday for the University of Albany Invitational.
Jim Pennington enters his 28th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2011-2012. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
