The win caps off a terrific weekend for the Pride as it defeated No. 25 Wesleyan and No. 30 Rhode Island College on Saturday afternoon.
Mike Rose got the Pride off on the right foot to start the meet as he picked up a pin in 4:30 to give Springfield an early 6-0 lead which it would not relinquish. Blaze Chatham won by major decision at 141 before Ryan McGilvray came up with a huge win at 149, defeating his opponent, 2-0.
At 157, Derrick Longo picked up a victory by major decision to balloon Springfield's lead to 17-3. However, behind a trio of nationally-ranked wrestlers, TCNJ rattled off wins in the next three bouts to make it a 17-16 contest.
Dan DiColo, ranked 7th in the nation at 157, won at 165 by major decision, while Brian Broderick, ranked eighth in the nation at 174, also won by major decision. Mike Denver, the fifth-ranked wrestler at 184, made it a one-point match by virtue of his late pin at 6:30.
Springfield's Jeremy Burns responded with a win by technical fall as he blanked his opponent 16-0, giving Springfield a 22-16 edge. Ron Fusco completed the upset victory as he won by decision, 6-3, at 285.
Springfield will next compete on Wednesday when it travels down the road to take on local rivals Western New England College and American International College.
