



Springfield College -- January 11, 2011 – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced that it will be hosting its 10th Annual Spalding Hoophall Classic from January 14 to January 17 at Springfield College’s Blake Arena. The Classic will coincide with Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.The Classic includes some of the nation’s very best high school teams, with a total of 46 schools represented. Some 24 games will be played from Friday, January 14 to Monday, Jan. 17.
There will be five games played on the first day of competition, three girls’ games and two boys’ games, beginning at 3:00 pm.
On Saturday, seven boys’ games will be played beginning at 11:00 am. On Sunday, there will be six boys’ games beginning at 11:00 am. Sunday will also include a Skills Challenge in Blake Arena. And on Monday, the Classic will conclude with six more boys’ games beginning at 9:00 am.
The Skills Challenge is a fan-friendly event showcasing the players’ skill and athleticism, including a slam-dunk contest, a 3-point shootout, and a 2-ball competition.
For advance tickets, one may call 413-231-5513 or visit the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Advance tickets are on sale through January 12, 2011. Game-day tickets may be purchased the day of the games at Springfield College beginning one hour prior to the start of the first game.
Ticket prices are:
adults -- $15.00;
students/youth (defined as 18 and under) – $10.00;
under 5 – free.
All patrons that present a Big Y World Class Market Savings Card will receive a $1.00 discount on each ticket purchased. Each ticket purchased is good for one day of games.
