Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Bests Men's Tennis, 8-1

San Juan, Puerto Rico - March 20, 2013 - The Springfield College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Puerto Rico Rio Piedras on Wednesday during its Spring Break trip.

The Pride are now 3-3 this season and will play their final match of their Puerto Rico trip on Thursday against Puerto Rico Huamacao.

Springfield's lone point on the day came at No. 5 singles as Zac Goldstein took the first set 7-6 before his opponent retired.

Ben Burnap had a strong showing in the No. 2 singles, falling in a three-set match 3-6, 6-4, 10-5. At the top doubles spot for the Pride, Burnap teamed with Kyle Mersereau for Springfield's best showing, an 8-5 setback.
