Wellesley, Mass. - October 9, 2012 - Junior Kelly Gallo was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Pride to a 2-1 record last week.The Westfield, Mass. native Gallo produced eight points in the Pride's two victories, both of which came against league foes . She opened the week with a great showing in a 7-0 victory over Wheaton, tallying three goals and an assist. On Saturday, Gallo recorded an assist in a 2-0 win at WPI as Springfield improved to 4-1 in league play.
After eight years as head coach of the Pride, Melissa Sharpe, has continued the SC tradition of winning on the field hockey turf, posting an impressive 120-58 record, good for a winning percentage of .674 at the helm of her alma mater. Read more.
