Wrestling Rallies Past Wesleyan, 19-17, In Clash of Nationally-Ranked Squads

Jeremy Burns Springfield, Mass. - February 2, 2012 - Tyler Keane clinched a come-from-behind effort effort by the Springfield College wrestling team as it rallied for a 19-17 win over Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in Dana Gymnasium.

The Pride entered the day ranked 11th in the country in this week's national rankings, while Wesleyan was ranked just behind them in 12th.

These two squads met just last Sunday for the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Dual Championship, with the Pride prevailing by a 19-18 score.

The match started at 133 pounds and Springfield trailed 17-10 after the 184 bout. However, a 3-0 win by Jeremy Burns at 197 kick started the rally. John Gabordi earned a win at 285 to bring the hosts within a point, and Keane held on for a 2-1 victory at 125 to seal the win.
