



Box ScoreWaterville, Maine - September 11, 2010 - The Springfield College men's soccer team posted its third-straight shutout and freshman Ryan Malone headed home the game-winning strike in the 86th minute as the Pride bested Thomas College, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Springfield continues its incredible start to the 2010 campaign as it now improves to 4-0 this season. Through four games, Springfield has surrendered just one goal and has found the back of the net 10 times.
Malone was responsible for his second-game winning goal of his young career when he found the back of the net in the waning moments of the contest. Freshman Danny Amato assisted on the goal as Malone headed home Amato's corner kick.
Chris Walton was credited with his third shutout of the season and needed to make just three saves to do so. His counterpart, Mikkail Crockwell, made just two saves in the loss.
In the game, Springfield held a 14-11 edge in shots, including a 10-5 advantage in the second half
The Pride look to stay unbeaten when it hosts Wesleyan on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.

Steffen Siebert enters his second season at the helm of the Springfield College men's soccer program in the fall of 2013. After three seasons as an assistant coach, Siebert led the Pride to its second-straight trip to the NEWMAC Championship in his first season. Read more.
