



Springfield, Mass. - March 11, 2013 - The Springfield College football team will be participating in the "Be The Match" program and will be holding a marrow drive on campus on Thursday, March 14th at the Flynn Campus Union. Students, faculty, and staff are asked to come out and support this incredible cause.To join the registry you must be between the ages of 18 and 44 and meet the health guidelines. All that is required on that Thursday is to stop by between 9:00 and 3:00 pm to get your cheek swabbed, and your name will be added to the bone marrow national registry.
The cause has certainly resonated with the team even more within the past few weeks, as senior wide receiver Phil Baier was notified that after being added to the registry last year, he was a match and has been cleared to donate marrow.

Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 32nd season as a head football coach in the fall of 2013. He enters his 30th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 28 years, he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980. Read more.
