Men's Tennis Blanked By Nichols, 9-0

Springfield, Mass. - September 23, 2013 - The Springfield College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback to Nichols College in non-conference play on Monday afternoon at Appleton Courts.

In doubles play, the Pride's best showing came from the No. 3 doubles team of Cody Rodrigues (Westfield, Mass.) and Josh Robinson (Southold, N.Y.), who fell 8-5.

The top three singles players for Springfield all fell by similar scores, with Tanner DeVarennes (Lee, Mass.) dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision at No. 1, while Joe Giannelli (Watertown, Conn.) and Justin Danielewicz (Portland, Conn.) each lost 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 and No.3, respectively.

The Pride will play again on Tuesday when it hosts Endicott at 4:00 pm.
