



Skidmore Box ScoreSpringfield has now rattled off eight straight victories after losing back-to-back matches on September 22 and 25th. The Pride are now 17-2 on the year.
Due to illness, head coach Joel Dearing did not make the trip with the Pride and assistant coaches Tony Andres and Kathryn Hart took the reins of the squad. The pair guided SC to four wins over the weekend en route to the championship as the Pride only dropped one game in its four matches.
Heather Lively was selected as the Tournament's MVP, while Kelsea Hellyar and Sarah Lang-Rodean were chosen to the All-Tournament Team.
Against Skidmore, Lively led the attack with 18 kills and nine digs, while Hellyar dished out 47 assists to go with 10 digs.
In the championship match, an extremely efficient Springfield offense made quick work of the hosts. Lively totaled 12 kills on 21 swings, while Lang-Rodean connected for 10 kills on 20 swings and Lauren Torvi added nine kills on just 14 swings. Hellyar continued to impress as she handed out 40 assists in just three games. Meaghan Hart posted 12 digs and Jenna Lebowitz added eight digs of her own.

Moira Long will enter her second season as head women's volleyball coach in the fall of 2012. Long wasted little time putting her stamp on the program, taking the Pride to the NCAA Championship Elite Eight in 2011.
