Meet Head Coach Kristen Mullady

Head Coach Kristen Mullady Kristen Mullady ‘00 enters her fifth season as the head women’s lacrosse coach at Springfield College. A former standout for Springfield’s women’s lacrosse team, Mullady was named an assistant professor of physical education and the Pride's head coach in the summer of 2009.

In the 2013 season, the Pride repeated as NEWMAC Champions, despite entering the tournament as the three seed. With four all-conference selections leading the way, Springfield advanced to its fifth trip to the NCAA's before a 4-3 setback at Endicott ended their season.

The 2012 campaign saw Mullady lead the Pride back to the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in program history. The Pride earned a berth by virtue of knocking off Babson, 10-6, in the NEWMAC Championship game. Springfield eventually bowed out to Buffalo State in the first round of the NCAA's, concluding their year with an 11-8 record.

In her second season on the sidelines for Springfield, Mullady guided the Pride to an 11-6 record, including its first 6-0 mark in conference regular season play since 2006. The Pride earned the regular season title before falling in its third-straight NEWMAC Tournament Championship game to Babson. Mullady was honored as the NEWMAC Coach of the Year, and six of her players were named all-conference, including the NEWMAC Player of the Year, Jackie Moscardelli.

Mullady returned to her alma mater and led Springfield to a 10-8 record as it reached the NEWMAC Tournament Championship for the second year in a row. Under Mullady's guidance, Springfield landed six players on the all-conference team.

Mullady, who graduated from Springfield in 2000 with a degree in physical education, still holds SC’s all-time record for points in a season with 77, and ranks fifth all-time in career points with 162. She recently completed a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Walden University.

Mullady re-entered the collegiate coaching ranks after most recently spending several years coaching high school and youth lacrosse in Connecticut. In addition to being the girl’s lacrosse coach for Hall High School in West Hartford, Mullady has become a prominent figure in the Connecticut girl’s lacrosse scene. In 2009, she was named the President of the Connecticut High School Coaches Association for high school lacrosse and has been the coach of the U-15 Connecticut Select Team since 2000.

On the college level, Mullady once served as the head coach for the Central Connecticut State University women’s lacrosse program from 2003-2005.

Since her graduation from Springfield College, Mullady has been a physical education teacher at the Renbrook School, Conard and Hall High School, Capital Prep Magnet School, as well as most recently at Windsor High School.

She also is involved in a variety of camps in the area, including the Peak Performance and Total Lacrosse Camps. Since 2003, she has been the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator as well as the Director of Field Hockey and Lacrosse at Sportsworld, an indoor sport facility in Connecticut.

In addition, Mullady founded Lax Plus Club, which is a club program to prepare high school athletes from Western Massachusetts and Hartford County for college lacrosse.
