



Complete ResultsNew Haven, Conn. -- January 16, 2010 -- The Springfield College women's gymnastics team competed very well, but finished third in a most exciting tri-meet at Southern Connecticut State College that could have gone any which way this afternoon. Host SCSU captured the meet with a score of 182.900, followed very closely by Brown at 182.825, and by Springfield at 181.150.
Springfield did particularly well in the vault, placing first among the three teams with an aggregate score of 45.775. Brown finished the vault with a score of 45.775, while SCSU finished at 45.025. Among individuals in that event, SC senior Ericca Castagna (Topsfield, Mass.) placed first with a score of 9.375. Junior Christina Pagella (Westfield, Mass.) tied for second at 9.275. Sophomore Carly Flynn (Franklin, Mass.) was fifth at 9.200, and freshman Brittany Baglow (Amherst, Mass.) sixth at 9.175.
On the balance beam, senior Audrey Lastra (New Milford, Conn.) placed third, SC's best in that event, with a score of 9.400.
On the uneven parallel bars, SC's best performer was senior Jeanna Bradle (New Milford, Conn.), who finished seventh at 9.150.
On floor exercise, Pagella finished fifth at 9.475. Senior Kayleigh Davis (Whitefield, N.H.) tied for seventh at 9.400.
