



La Crosse, Wisc. - March 11, 2011 - Joe Grippi and Ron Fusco each split a pair of matches in the first day of the 2011 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.Wrestling at 141 pounds, Grippi bested Kevin Bokoski of Luther, 6-2, in his first match to advance to take on second-seeded Jeremy Stierly from Ithaca College. The Bedford Hills, N.Y. native wasn't able to upset Stierly as he dropped a 10-3 decision.
As for Fusco, the senior lost his opening match of the day at the 285-pound weight classification to third-seeded Judson Connell from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, 11-6. The Billerica, Mass. product then eliminated regional rival Tom Foote from Williams College by pinning Foote in 45 seconds.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
