Golf Finishes Seventh at Trinity Invitational

Farmington, Conn. -- September 8, 2013 – The Springfield College golf team wrapped up play at the Trinity Invitational on Sunday with a sixth place finish in the team standings.

Kyle DiFranco (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led the Pride at Tunxis Plantation Golf Course, shooting a combined 152 (77, 75).

Adam Ziewacz (Simsbury, Conn.) finished second for the Pride, shooting 155 over the weekend, 77 on Saturday and 78 on Sunday. David Hashagen (Morris Plains, N.J.) finished with a 166, improving from an 86 on Saturday to an 80 on Sunday.

Mike Nowakowski (East Hampton, Conn.) and Michael Katzer (West Springfield, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Springfield with a 170 and 187, respectively. Nowakowski shot an 86 on Sunday and Katzer finished the round with a 92.

Trinity won the invitational with a combined team score of 606. Amherst placed second with 619 strokes. Trinity's "B" squad (620), Elms College (624), Western New England (625) and Babson (630), all placed ahead of the Pride's mark of 637.

Head Coach Joe Eadie

Joe Eadie Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional.
