



Complete ResultsWorcester, Mass. - October 9, 2012 - Erin Woodbury won in both her singles and doubles match to help lead the Springfield College women's tennis team to an important 5-4 win over Clark University in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play.
Down 2-1 following the doubles matches, the visiting Pride rallied to improve to 5-3. he Cougars now sit at 5-8 overall and 0-4 in league action.
Clark had victories at No. 1 singles where Gaby Suriano defeated Sam Carney 6-4, 6-0, and Sarah Sachs topped Siana Green 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2.
Springfield, however, rolled in the rest of the singles matches, highlighted by Woodbury collecting a 6-4, 6-4 win over Maggie Swann at No. 3 and Sydney Streimer knocking off Phoebe Hughes 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4.
At No. 5, Melanie Thulin had little trouble with Martha Ziemer 6-0, 6-0 and Vanessa Senecal upended Kera Snyder 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his third year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
