



Springfield, Mass. -- April 16, 2009 -- Senior Greg Levings of Springfield College fired a 76, good for a tie for fifth place among individuals, at today's Western New England College Invitational at Veterans Golf Course in Springfield. As a team, the Pride finished seventh among 10 teams with a score of 328 strokes.The Veterans Course is a par 72 and a 6,422-yard layout.
Levings (Averill Park, N.Y.) was Springfield's top finisher with his 76. He was followed by senior Mike LaJoie (Enfield, Conn.), who shot a 79, tying for 11th. Others for Springfield included freshman Jared Slingerland (Berwick, Me.) (tied for 34th with an 86), senior Bryan Andersen (Enfield, Conn.) (tied for 39th with an 87), and junior Junior Balogun (Springfield, Mass.) (41st with an 88).
Nichols College won the event as a team with a score of 308. Salem State was second with a score of 310, followed by Tufts (316), Babson (321), Franklin Pierce (325), UMass Dartmouth (326), Springfield (328), Western New England (334), Westfield State (345), and Elms (DQ'ed).
Up next, Head Coach Joe Eadie's troops will travel to Sterling Country Club in Sterling, Mass. for the Worcester State Invitational on Tuesday, April 21 at 12 noon.
