



Complete ResultsFlushing, N.Y. - April 17, 2012 - The Springfield College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win against Hunter on Tuesday in a match played at the USTA National Tennis Center. The win boosts Springfield's record to 7-9 this year, while the Hawks drop to 7-5.
Hunter was playing with just four players in the match and forfeited No. 3 doubles as well as No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Kyle Mersereau and Benjamin Burnap won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Doug Nickerson and Jesse Boyd picked up an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles.
Zach O'Leary won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Joe Giannelli won by the same scores at No. 2 singles.
At No. 3 singles, Alex Orban was victorious 6-2,-6-1 and Sean Seifert closed out the results be earning a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4
The Pride will now prep for a crucial conference match against Babson, beginnging at 1:00 pm on Appleton Courts.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his second year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
