Women's Lacrosse Drops 13-8 Decision To Ithaca In Florida

Kelly Gallo Orlando, Fla. - March 12, 2012 - The Springfield College women's lacrosse team fell behind 8-3 at the half and couldn't complete its rally as it fell to Ithaca College, 13-8, on Monday afternoon.

Springfield lost for the first time this season and is now 2-1. The Bombers improved to 2-2 this year.

The Pride had a very balanced day on offense, with both Kelly Gallo and Kerstin Lindrooth finding the back of the cage twice. Jackie Moscardelli and Brittany LeGuelaff each tallied a goal and an assist, while Meghan Flanagan registered five draw controls.

After a goal at the 23:38 mark of the first half put Springfield up 2-1, the Bombers responded with four unaswered goals over a nine-minute span to gain a 5-2 cushion. The Pride cut the lead to two with a marker at 9:39, only to have Ithaca score the final three goals of the half to lead 8-3.

The Bombers continued their scoring run with the first two goals of the second half to open up a 10-3. Springfield would get no closer than within five as it dropped it's first game of the year.
