



Day 1 Results (.pdf)Mechanicsburg, Pa - Nov. 30, 2012 - The Springfield College wrestling team is in fifth place among the 10 teams competing at the Petrofes Invitational hosted by Messiah College this weekend.
After the first day of competition, Cortland leads the way with 114 points. Messiah and Mount Union are currently tied for second with 95 points, followed by Wilkes (70.5), while Springfield rounds out the top five with 63.5 points.
A pair of Springfield wrestlers won their first two matches to remain in prime position to potentially win their weight class. At 133, Derek Adams was victorious his first two bouts, winning by fall in 2:44 and picking up a 5-2 decision in his second match.
Springfield's Nick Camera also won a pair of matches in the 184 pound weight class to remain in contention. Camera cruised to victory in his first bout, 13-5, before earning a 5-2 win to advance to the semifinals.

Jason Holder will enter his third season as head wrestling coach in 2013. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
