



Complete Springfield ResultsBrockport, N.Y. -- January 18, 2009 -- The College at Brockport women's gymnastics team, ranked #1 in the latest national poll, defeated a pair of opponents, including Springfield College, this afternoon at the Tuttle North facility at Brockport.
Final team scores were Brockport 184.875, Ursinus 181.150, Springfield 179.150.
For the Pride, Cheryl Raymond's team improved from a week ago when it posted a score of 178.975 versus Southern Connecticut State.
Only three performers from all teams combined qualified for the All-Around. Finishing in a tie for first among individuals were Kaitlin Dewey and Lauren Gildemeyer of Brockport with scores of 37.650. In third was Kira Oldham-Curtis of Ursinus with a score of 37.075.
Four different performers finished in the top six on four different apparatus for Springfield. They included junior Ericca Castagna (Topsfield, Mass.), junior Jeanna Bradle (New Milford, Conn.), senior Jacqui Mazzola (Framingham, Mass.), and junior Brittany Davis (Shelby, N.C.).
Castagna finished in a tie for first with Brockport's Gildemeyer in the vault (9.525), and also finished sixth in the floor exercise (9.275). Bradle finished tied for third in the vault (9.475), placed in a tie for fifth in the uneven parallel bars (9.175), and finished fifth in the floor exercise (9.375). Mazzola placed sixth in the vault (9.400). And Davis placed fifth in the balance beam (9.300).
Next Saturday (Jan. 24), Springfield will host Southern Connecticut State and RIC in Blake Arena at 12 noon.
