Women's Cross Country Competes in New England Championships

Gabby Gaudreault Complete Results

Boston, Mass. - October 12, 2013 - The Springfield College women's cross country team competed against the top teams in the region when it raced in the New England Championships at Franklin Park on Saturday, finishing 38th as a team.

Gabby Gaudreault (Leominster, Mass.), finished first for Springfield with a time of 19:18. The senior made her first appearance since the Ramapo Invitational on September 14th. She has been training on her own while doing an internship in New Jersey.

Abby Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Jaime Giaccone (Enfield, Conn.) finished back-to-back in 20:55 and 20:56, respectively. Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) finished two runners later in 21:01 and Emily Rund (Enfield, Conn.) had a time of 21:09.

Jennifer Kapinos (Feeding Hills, Mass.) finished in 21:45 and Sarah Skillin (Fall River, Mass.) recorded a time of 22:22.

Boston University's Rosa Moriello was the overall winner in 17:13. New Hampshire was the overall team winner.

Springfield will race at Connecticut College next weekend.
