Men's Golf Places Fifth at Western New England Invitational

each shot 79 to lead the Springfield College golf team to a fifth-place finish out of the 11 teams competing at the Western New England Invitational on Thursday at Veterans Golf Course.
Endicott won the Invitational with 309 strokes, edging host Western New England's mark of 310. Elms finished with 314 strokes, while UMass Dartouth (317) and Springfield (318) rounded out the top five.
Both Vincent and Ziewacz tied for 12th after shooting a 79 in the blustery conditions. Tim Vollaro and Tom Sangeloty finished one-shot behind them with an 80, while Ryne McEvoy posted an 81.
The Pride is back in action on Tuesday when it competes in the Rich Korzel Memorial at Blackstone Country Club.

Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. He also lead the Pride to their first NCAA Division III Championship in program history. Read more
