



Springfield, Mass. -- November 15, 2010 -- The Springfield College wrestling team has risen one spot to second in the latest New England Division III Coaches Poll, released earlier today. The Pride now trails only Williams College in the poll.Williams tops the poll for the third straight week. The Ephs accumulated 101 points and seven of the 11 first place votes. Springfield is second with 94 points, and two first-place votes. Wesleyan is third with 89 points, and the remaining two first-place votes.
Up next is fourth-place Johnson & Wales with 81 points, followed by Roger Williams (69), Rhode Island College (57), Southern Maine (36), Plymouth State (34), Bridgewater State (28), and Coast Guard (11).
Also receiving votes were Trinity, WPI, and WNEC.
Springfield will be the mecca of New England Division III Wrestling this Saturday when it hosts the Doug Parker Invitational. Eleven of the NEWA schools will be in attendance.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
