



New Haven, Conn. - February 16, 2013 - Going up against some of the top competition in the region, the Springfield College women's gymnastics team placed fourth at the Bulldog Invitational hosted at Yale University on Saturday.Bridgeport came in on top with a 194.725, followed by host Yale's score of 191.325. West Chester finished third with a 186.000 and Springfield was fourth with a 182.050.
Abby Clark had a standout meet for the Pride, finishing seventh in the all-around with a 37.400. Teammate Brittany Baglow took eighth in the all-around (36.275), followed by Lauren Pocius' total of 35.11.
Clark tallied a 9.075 on the uneven bars for Springfield's best mark, and also had the Pride's best finish on floor, tallying a 9.425.
On the vault, Baglow had the Pride's top score, posting a 9.625 to finish in a tie for eighth, while Keelin O'Connell placed ninth on the beam after recording a 9.525.
Springfield will compete in a rescheduled dual meet on Monday afternoon at home against Rhode Island College at 4:00 pm.



Cheryl Raymond, who will be entering her 33rd year as women's gymnastics coach and assistant professor of physical education at Springfield College in 2012-2013, is one of the top college coaches in the region. Read more.
