



Complete ResultsWilliamstown, Mass. - September 27, 2008: The Springfield College men's cross country team finished seventh in a field of 18 on Saturday afternoon in the Purple Valley Classic.
In the 8k race, the host Williams College Ephs won the race with a score of 41, compared to the Pride's final score of 224. Amherst (56), Dartmouth (100), Keene State(123), Middlebury (156), and Coast Guard (177) all placed in front of Springfield in the race.
The Pride's runners ran in an average time of 27:56.80 in the race and had a total time of 2:19.44.00.
Mike Griffin continued his impressive 2008 campaign as he finished in sixth in a time of 26:39. Teammate David Birdsall was the next member of the team to finish, as he placed 46th in a time of 27:45.
Brian Fuller finished in 67th in a time of 28:17, followed closely by Michael DeCresenzo in 75th in 28:29. Kyle Moriarty finished in 80th overall place with a final time of 28:34, while Ben Lasky (97th, 28:54) and TJ Potenza (102nd, 28:59) rounded out the Pride's finishers.
Bryan Brown will enter his third season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2013. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, is the reigning NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading Springfield to its second-straight second-place finish at the conference championships a year ago .
