



Complete ResultsSutton, Mass. -- April 19, 2011 -- The Springfield College men's golf team placed 11th of 18 teams at the Worcester State Invitational this afternoon at the par 72 Blackstone National Golf Course. Salem State won the title with a team score of 313. The Pride finished 25 strokes behind.
Salem State junior Nick Zolotas (Peabody, MA) fired a 69 (-3) to capture individual medalist honors and help lead the Vikings to this year’s title.
After Salem State, the other top five team finishers included Western New England College (318, +30), Endicott (326, +38), while UMass Dartmouth and Trinity (CT) both tied for fourth (328, +40).
Among SC individuals, Chris Vincent led with a score of 82 (41 on each side). Behind Vincent were Pat Marra with an 83, Ryne McEvoy with an 84, and Tom Sangeloty and Alex Brown with 89's.
Third-year Nick Jagoe (Westport, MA) of UMass Dartmouth came in second overall with a card of 74 (+2), followed by Endicott sophomore Jackson Wyman’s (Falmouth, ME) score of 75 (+3) in third while senior Steve LeDonne (Rehoboth, MA) of Johnson and Wales and freshman Henry Fall (Harpswell, ME) equaled fourth with a 76 (+4).
Sophomore Nathan McNamara (Leicester, MA) of Anna Maria, Trinity first-year John Shilling (New Canaan, CT) and Stephen Price of Endicott all tied for sixth with scores of 77 (+5) to round out the top 10 on the leader board.
Joe Eadie enters his 19th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. Read more.
