Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes Third at Ithaca Invitational
Ithaca, N.Y. - December 4, 2011 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team concluded the Ithaca Invitational on Sunday and finished in third place out of nine teams competing.
Cornell University won the competition with 1,975 points, followed by SUNY Geneso (1,1316), and Springfield (1,185.5).
Springfield had a terrific showing in the 100 free as Kellie Pennington was victorious in 51.01, while Caroline Kosciusko took third in 53.56, and Jaclyn Van Waalwijk placed fourth in 53.74.
Meghan Sisson opened up the final day with a 17:59.62 in the 1,650 free to finish in fifth for the Pride and Kelsey Poole later touched fifth in the 200 back with a time of 2:10.46.
The Pride closed out the meet on a high note by capturing the 400 free relay after Kaitlin Reilly, Van Waalwijk, Kosciusko, and Pennington combined to swim a 3:31.99.
