



Complete ResultsBoston, Mass. - February 26, 2011 -The Springfield College women's track and field team competed at the All New England Championships on Saturday. The meet was comprised of the top talent in New England, spanning Division I, II, and III institutions.
Despite not scoring in the meet, Springfield had several outstanding performances.
The Pride's 4x400 relay ran an NCAA Provisional qualifying time of 3:57.57 as Katie Schumann, Laurie Jenkins, Joy Jennifer, Gabriella Gaudreault ran their best time of the season. The squad's time currently ranks 13th-fastest in the country.
A pair of individuals ran the 400 meter dash as Schumann ran a 59.32, while Gaudreault clocked in at 59.53.
The Pride's 4x800 relay team comprised of Michelle Mirti, Jenn Kapinos, Nicole DeChristoforo, and Lacey Cartier finished 12th in 9:31.99. The distance relay also finished 12th on the afternoon as Mirti, Jennfier, Kapinos, and Cartier crossed the finish line in 12:34.81.
Both of those relay's ran their fastest times of the year and qualified for the upcoming ECAC Championships.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
