Head coach Jason Holder, now entering his third season at Springfield College, returns a pair of All-America selections, who both happen to enter this season as the top-ranked wrestler in each of their respective weight classes.
Reigning NCAA Division III National Champion Devin Biscaha (Jackson, N.J.) will look to defend his title this year at 157 after a breakout season last year. The senior is ranked #1 to begin the season, a year removed from entering the NCAA Championship unseeded. On the national stage, Biscaha upset the second, third, fourth, and sixth ranked wrestlers in the country to win Springfield College's first-ever Division III wrestling national championship.
Derek Adams (Charlestown, R.I.) also burst onto the national scene last year at the NCAA Championships and will start the year as the top-ranked wrestler at the 133 pound weight class. The junior also went into nationals unseeded, but powered through his bracket en route to placing fourth in the country to garner All-America honors.
At last year's, NCAA Division III Championships, Springfield finished 8th out of 64 teams represented in the competition with 42 points. It proved to be the highest team finish for the Pride since the 1998 team took seventh.
The Pride will begin the year competing at the Ithaca Invitational on November 8-9.
