



Northfield, Vt. - January 27, 2010 - The Springfield College wrestling team topped Norwich University, 27-12, on Wednesday evening as the Pride picked up six wins in the match, including a pair of pins. The match, which started at 141 pounds, featured a pair of pins for Springfield by Gary DiPietro and Ron Fusco. DiPietro picked up his pin at 125 in 2:18, while Fusco won the 285 match with a pin at 2:57. Other winners by decision for Springfield included Ryan McGilvray at 149, Jonathan Robertson at 157, Tyler LeBlanc at 174. Anthony Dalesandro was victorious by virtue of a medical forfeit at 184.
Springfield will now prepare to take on conference-rivals Wesleyan and Rhode Island College on Saturday afternoon in Providence, R.I.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
