



Complete ResultsBoston, Mass. - February 25, 2012 - Several members of the Springfield College men’s track and field team competed in the All-New England Championships Saturday hosted by Boston University.
The University of Connecticut finished with 118.5 points, winning the event that included teams from all three NCAA Divisions.
Junior Matt Scully placed 12th in the preliminaries of the 1000 meter run. His time of 2:33.24 was just two spots shy of qualifying for the final heat. Fellow junior Garrett Sharnick competed in the 200 meter dash and finished with a time of 23.04 seconds. The Pride’s final competitor, junior Zach Pietras ran in the 3000 meter event, and finished in 8:54.76.
Springfield heads to New York City on Friday for the ECAC Championships.

Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage. Under his direction, Kevin Coyle '12 won the 2011 Division III Indoor Long Jump National Championship.
