



Complete ResultsHampden, Mass. - October 2, 2011 - The Springfield College golf team finished in a tie for seventh place at the 2011 ECAC New England Division III Championships held on Sunday at Hampden Country Club. Leading the Pride on the day was Alex Brown, who fired a team-best 79.
After the opening day of the Championship was postponed due to rain, the format was changed to a one-day 18-hole event, with 16 teams vying for the title.
Salem State University was crowned the team champion with a score of 297, followed by runner-up Husson University (298) and Western New England University (304).
The individual overall champion was Nick Zolotas of Salem State, who shot a 70 (-2) on Sunday. Nich Erlichman of Endicott College was the championship's runner-up, finishing a stroke behind Zolotas with a 71 (-1).
Springfield finished the event with 319 strokes to tie for seventh. Brown finished tied for 27th with a 79, while teammates Tom Sangeloty, Kyle DiFranco, and Ryne McEvoy each tied for 32nd with an 80. Chris Vincent rounded out the Pride's scores with an 85 as he tied for 57th.
Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. He also lead the Pride to their first NCAA Division III Championship in program history. Read more.
