



Williamsburg, Va. -- April 2, 2010 -- The Springfield College men's gymnastics team placed fourth with its second-highest team total of the season, and sophomore Ty Evans and junior Josh Fox earned All-East honors by placing third and fourth in the All-Around competition in the ECAC/EIGL's at The College of William & Mary this evening.The University of Illinois-Chicago scored a 343.450 to win the 2010 Eastern Intercollegiate Gymnastics League (EIGL) Championships Illinois-Chicago senior Andrew Stover was crowned champion in the Individual All-Around event with an 87.300.
Temple University finished in second place with a 339.350 and host William & Mary earned third place with a 337.650 score. In fourth place was Springfield with a score of 336.050.
William & Mary senior Derek Gygax earned runner-up honors in the Individual All-Around with an 85.200. Third place honors went to Ty Evans of San Jose, Calif. who finished with an 84.900. Fourth place went to junior Josh Fox of Ellicott City, Md.
The individual championships will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3 at the Kaplan Arena on the campus of William & Mary. Springfield will have several participants in that competition.
