Kissimee, Fla. - March 19, 2013 - First-year Jenna Webb combined for seven hits on the day to as the Springfield College softball team split with Rowan and Endicott on Tuesday morning. Rowan slipped past the Pride, 5-4, before the Springfield offense powered past Endicott, 11-1, in five innings.

The split today snaps the Pride's three game skid as it improves to 2-4 on the year.

Against Rowan, both Webb and Christina Leader went 3-for-4, while Breann Joyce added two hits. Ashley Marino struck out six in six innings of work, but took the loss after surrendering five earned runs on eight hits.

Both teams registered two runs in the first inning, with Webb hammering a two-run shot in the bottom of the first to score Leader, who had previously singled.

However, Rowan took the lead for good in the fourth on a three-run homer by Jennifer Arcella. Springfield answered with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to make it a one-run game. Leader's infield single allowed pinch-runner Brielle Englebrecht to score, and Melissa Nelson would later cross the plate on a Rowan error.

Webb led off the bottom of the seventh with a single up the middle, but that's as far as the Pride's rally would go.

Springfield's offense erupted for 11 runs on 13 hits in a five-inning victory over Endicott. Webb connected for hits on all four of her at bats, producing five RBI in the process. Leader was also perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3, and crossed the plate three times. Jennifer Joseph picked up her second win the year as she hurled four innings of shutout ball, giving up just three hits while striking out six and walking two.

RBI singles from Webb and Joyce opened up the second contest as the Pride jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first. Springfield seized control of the game in the second, scoring four runs on five hits, highlighted by RBI singles from Kelly Blake, Leader, and Webb.

Webb added an RBI double in the fourth, and roped a two-RBI single to right field in the fifth to complete her standout effort. The Gulls lone run came off Caisie Cadorette in the bottom of the fifth as they were able to scratch out two hits and take advantage of a Springfield error.

Springfield will have Wednesday off before hitting the field again on Thursday for games against Anderson and Endicott.
