Coyle Leads Men's Track and Field at All New England Championships

Boston, Mass. - February 26, 2011 - Kevin Coyle recorded a pair of top-five finishes in the long jump and triple jump to lead the Springfield College men's track and field team at the All New England Championships on Saturday.

The University of Connecticut won the competition with 119.5 points, while the Pride finished tied for 20th with 13 points.

Coyle took fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 47-01.50, and placed fifth in the long jump after recording a distance of 22-07.75. His mark in the triple jump met provisional standards for the NCAA Championships.

In the 400 meter dash, Nickel Hay ran a 49.04 to finish seventh. Hay also joined up with teammates Chris Quetant, Fernando Beltran, and Kevin Behlmer to run the 4x400 in a time of 3:18.49, which was the seventh-fastest time.

All earned All-New England honors for finishing in the top eight of their respective events.
