Lewis Earns Honorable Mention All-America Honors on the One-Meter at NCAA Championships
Indianapolis, Ind. - March 21, 2014 - Michael Normoyle (Springfield, Mass.)
and Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.)
represented the Springfield College men's swimming and diving team on day three of the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship in Indianapolis.
Competing for the first time on the one-meter board on the national stage, Lewis took home Honorable Mention All-America honors after placing 15th. The junior totaled a score of 442.30 in the consolation final to earn the national honor. In the prelims this morning, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Year totaled a 435.95 to advance to the evening session. A total of 25 divers were competed on the afternoon. Earlier this week on the three-meter board, Lewis finished 20th overall.
Normoyle, seeded 19th overall in the 100-yard breaststroke lived up to his seeding, finishing 19th in a field of 32 swimmers. The sophomore swam in lane one of the fourth heat of the preliminary round, clocking a time of 56.49, the sixth fastest time in his heat. Normoyle posted a time of 26.37 after his first split and swam a 30.12 in the last 50 yards.

Diving Coach Peter Avdoulos
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 29th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2013-2014.
