Albany, N.Y. - October 17, 2009 - Led by Amanda DiPaolo's seventh-place finish, the Springfield College women's cross country team finished 11th out of 24 teams competing at the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
DiPaolo was tremendous for the Pride as she finished the 5k race in 17:57.5, crossing the finish line seventh out of 193 runners. The race was comprised of Division I, II, and III competitors and was won by Elise DeRoo of Colgate University, who finished in 17:28.7.
Lacey Cartier continued to run well for the Pride as she finished 27th in 18:32.6, while Caitlyn Crosby crossed the finish line in 19:51.4, good for 90th place.
Right behind Crosby was teammate Alex Mustardo, who finished 94th in 19:57.7. Rounding out the Pride's scorers in the race was Lindsey Eby who ran a 20:10.2 en route to finishing 100th.
Springfield will now have a week off until racing in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Saturday, October 31 at Wellesley.
