Springfield, Mass. - November 21, 2012 - The Springfield College men's basketball team will be participating in the "Be The Match" program and will be holding a marrow drive on campus on Sunday, December 9th at the Flynn Campus Union. Students, faculty, and staff are asked to come out and support this incredible cause. The drive is being held to attempt to find a marrow donor for Jon, a member of the Eastern Connecticut State University men's soccer team. He was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia this past September and needs a life saving marrow transplant. Jon doesn’t have a family match, so now must look to the marrow registry for a donor.
To join the registry you must be between the ages of 18 and 44 and meet the health guidelines. All that is required on that Sunday is to stop by between 4:00 and 8:00 pm to get your cheek swabbed, and your name will be added to the bone marrow national registry.
