Normoyle Swims In 200 IM at NCAA Championships

Michael Normoyle Houston, Texas - March 20, 2013 - Freshman Michael Normoyle opened up the 2013 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday afternoon by swimming in the 200 IM.

Competing for the first time on the national scene, Normoyle raced in the 200 IM and touched in a time of 1:54.24, placing 44th among the 52 competitors in the race. Several weeks ago, the rookie broke the oldest standing record in program history during the conference championships, besting the old mark that was set in 1984, as he registered a 1:53.18.

The Springfield, Mass. native will race again on Friday and Saturday in the breast stroke.
