



Centerville, Mass. - August 10, 2011 - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its Division III Softball New England All-Star Team and Springfield College's Breann Joyce was named to the first team.Joyce has had the postseason awards pour in as she was named to both the NFCA Division III All-New England Region First Team as well as the New England Softball Coaches Association (NEISCA) Division III All Star First Team, while being tabbed a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team selection,
The Trumbull, Conn. native had a breakout sophomore season for Springfield as she owned a team-best .388 batting average while producing a slugging percentage of .588. She posted 22 RBI off 33 hits, including five doubles and four home runs as Springfield's designated player. Against league opponents, Joyce was sensational as she pounded out a .563 batting average and a .938 slugging percentage.

Julie Perrelli enters her fourth season at the helm of the Springfield College softball program and as an assistant professor of physical education. In her first three seasons in the dugout for the Pride, Perelli has guided Springfield to two NEWMAC Championship title games. Read more.
