



Complete ResultsSpringfield, Mass. - January 24, 2009 -- The Springfield College women's indoor track and field team won a five-way meet at home on Saturday afternoon as junior Nikki Hay (Norwalk, Conn.) won the long jump, triple jump, the 55-meter dash, and the 200-meter dash.
Final team scores at this afternoon's meet were as follows: Springfield 219, Westfield State 113, UMass Dartmouth 88, Eastern Connecticut State 67, Coast Guard 54.
Hay was terrific as she recorded first places in four events She won the long jump with a distance of 17-04.75, over a foot farther than the next competitor, and won the triple jump with a distance of 38-01.50, almost four feet longer than any other competitor. In the 55 meter dash, Hay (7.36) was one of the Pride's top three finishers, as she was followed by Erika Marks (7.78), and Katie Parente (7.97). Hay's final win of the day came as she blew past the competition in the 200 meters with a time of 26.16, winning by more than two seconds.
Fatima Rose was also impressive as she won the weight throw with a toss of 49-11.75, while Lara Dalidowitz took first in the high jump with a height of 5-01.00.
SC's 4x200 relay was first as well with a time of 1:48.35, while it's 4x400 relay won in 4:16.00. In the 400 meter's, Nicole Reynolds gave Springfield first place points as she crossed first in 1:04.43, while Lacey Cartier won the 600 meter run 1:41.49. Caitlyn Crosby was another top finisher for Springfield as she won the 1000 meters in 3:25.05.

Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
